Exercise Tips for Army?
Hi, You have made a great decision in joining the Army! Anyway a basic exercises routine would be start doing a lot of push-ups. Start by doing as many as you can even if its just 5. Do say 5(or as many as you can) every hour or other hour you are awake. Take it slow and relax. Control your breathing, when you go up inhale when you go down exhale. Pull-ups: Pull ups are very hard. couldn't even do one be for i started training. Basically with pull ups you have to keep doing them over. You will have to increase your upper body strength to be able to pull your body above the bar. Also DO NOT pull more then just the bottom of your chin above the bar when you do pull ups else you will be wasting much needed energy. To increase your strength when doing a pull up do it slowly especially going down. It will be hard but it will get easier as you do it more. Sit ups just do as many as you can every hour of the day for 10 mins and just try to beat out you last score. Running is probably the MOST important part when training. With running its all about endurance. Run at your full speed for 10 minutes or what ever you can do even if its just 2 minutes then go to jogging speed for 15 or 20 min's or what ever you can do. Go back up to your full speed for another 10 mins then go back down to jogging. I would do this maybe 2, 3 times for your first couple of sessions then increase that running routine to 5 then 7 times then 9 times (increase by 2) etc. Remember it not a race with yourself to see when you are able to do it 9 times or more, you will start to injure your body rather then strengthen it if you go from doing it 2 times a session to 9 times. Just taken your time you have YEARS to do this. Also start adding 5 minuets to both jogging and your full speed running routine when it starts to get easy. Remember its not going to happen over Night its going to take time. Do pull up push ups and other strengthen exercises one day then the next day do running. This is to let your body rest and so you don't injure yourself. Also take a off day where you do nothing. This will allow your body to recover all together. Please please please DO NOT hesitate to email me at EileenCGerard@aol.com i will be more then happy to help you with any questions you have.
